Job Description/Requirements

Reports To: Senior Manager - Consumer Segment MM Division: Marketing Mission: Create and drive the overarching voice proposition strategy for MTN Nigeria to drive sustainable and profitable market volume and value growth for MTN Nigeria. Lead consumer strategy for the voice proposition roadmap and integrate go-to-market strategy to drive customer, market share, and commercial growth. Description: Coordinate competition intelligence monitoring and escalations on price floor contravention and non-compliance with industry practices. Monitor and analyze market insights and trends for inputs into the development of new voice propositions.  Formulate consumer marketing strategies and initiatives that will ensure relevant brand positioning and broaden brand appeal to the voice-using segment. Define research requirements for capturing key consumer, market, trend, and competitive insights, and use key findings, conclusions, and indicated actions from the qualitative and quantitative consumer and customer research to provide recommendations to drive business performance and stay ahead of competition. Manage any issues, risks, and concerns with the delivery of the voice propositions, working cross-functionally and closely with the frontline teams and other stakeholders as necessary to resolve and track these to completion. Evaluate new opportunities for expansion and revenue growth, and develop creative and innovative approaches to drive sustainable growth in the mass market space. Continuously identify, review, and monitor the demographic profiles of the consumer segment. Provide delivery and performance tracking support to the department and management. Identify opportunities and leverage MTN Nigeria’s voice propositions to take advantage of such opportunities. Initiate, contribute to, and manage the development of relevant advertising and communication concepts to drive understanding of voice propositions and achieve business objectives. Education: First degree in Marketing, Social Sciences, or related discipline. Continuously seek self-professional development to sharpen skills and capabilities in a versatile and evolving telecom landscape. Fluent in English Experience: 6–13 years’ experience, which includes: 3 years’ experience in an area of specialization and managing products. Experience in collaborating with and influencing both internal and external stakeholders. A good understanding of systems, networks, and mobile applications. Hands-on product management and development experience, including defining, launching, and optimizing products and services. Good understanding of new trends and technologies. Experience in building differentiated customer value propositions and product value propositions. Ability to present compelling business cases for investment in new product and service development. Demonstrated project management experience and excellence in driving cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders. Proven success in delivering complex products and services in a high-growth environment. Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions. Experience working in a medium- to large organization. Experience in marketing within telecoms or FMCG. Experience working on web and mobile platforms.
