Maintenance Lead

The Maintenance Lead will oversee all maintenance operations for plastic injection moulding machines and supporting equipment. The role ensures optimal machine performance, minimizes downtime, and drives continuous improvement across production facilities. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and extensive experience in plastic injection moulding environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for injection moulding machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on production machinery.
• Ensure optimal performance and reliability of moulding machines, moulds, chillers, compressors, conveyors, and other equipment.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs, records, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to reduce downtime and improve equipment efficiency.
• Plan and execute machine overhauls, installations, and commissioning of new equipment.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of critical components.
• Train and mentor maintenance technicians to enhance technical competence.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards in all maintenance operations.
• Recommend and implement cost-saving initiatives and machine improvement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in maintenance within a plastic injection moulding environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with injection moulding machines (e.g., hydraulic, electric, and hybrid systems).
• Solid understanding of PLCs, robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation systems.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on minimizing downtime.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
• Good communication, planning, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
