A Legal Officer who works as an in-house lawyer manages the organization's legal affairs, such as contracts, compliance, and risk management. They will help the agency operate legally and avoid lawsuits.

Responsibilities:
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate real estate documents like purchase/sale agreements, leases, and development contracts.
- Compliance & Risk: Ensure adherence to real estate laws, zoning, and environmental regulations; identify and mitigate legal risks.
- Due Diligence: Investigate property-related factual and legal information for acquisitions and dispositions.
- Regulatory Affairs: Manage filings, licenses, and permits with government bodies.
- Legal Advisory: Provide expert advice to management and operations teams on property law, transactions, and development.
- Dispute Resolution: Handle pre-litigation, mediation, and litigation for real estate matters.
- External Counsel Management: Coordinate with and manage outside law firms for specific cases or complex deals.
- Corporate Support: Assist with legal aspects of corporate governance, registrations, and renewals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB/LLM) and Certificate of Call to the Nigerian Bar, B.L.
- Experience: Significant experience in real estate law, property transactions, or a related field.
- Legal Knowledge: Strong understanding of property law, tenancy laws, contract law, and corporate governance.
- Skills: Excellent negotiation, analytical, communication, and risk management abilities.
