Laundry Officer

Responsibilities

• Ensures name labels are put on all items (linen).
• Accountable for ensuring that clothing is not damaged and/or lost by preparing daily and monthly reconciliations.
• Reports to supervisor on old and damaged linen, who then presents to QA & QC department and seeks approval for disposal.
• Maintains orderly condition of assigned work area.
• Launders all clothing and linens from patients as required (i.e. Bed sheet, Pillow cover etc
• Participates in departmental meetings as required and performs related duties and responsibilities as assigne
• Keeps a daily record  while Monitoring quality of work and volume of production in order to establish standards of operation by recording quantities of clothing and linens laundered, supplies used, losses, repairs and related information.
• Cleans all laundry area to ensure a safe working environment by maintaining sanitary conditions in the laundry by establishing procedures for handling contaminated laundry and disinfecting the laundry area.
• Maintains adequate quantity of laundry and linen supplies in order to replenish depleted stock by requisitioning or overseeing the ordering of necessary items.
• Fills out reports for machine maintenance requests and requisitioning of supplies
• Maintains machines and equipment in operating condition by reporting minor and major repairs and adjustments and also keeping a written record.
• Participates in departmental and general meetings to make observations and comment on laundry operations and procedures by providing input on laundry activities.

Requirements:

• Minimum academic qualification of SSCE
• 1 - 3 years’ experience

• Hard working and physical stamina.
• Good time management skills.
