Role Description

Africentra is seeking a full-time News, Copy & Creative Writer to join our team on-site in Lagos State, Nigeria. In this role, you will research and write compelling news articles, create engaging copy, and craft creative content that aligns with Africentra’s mission to deliver high-quality journalism. Responsibilities include conducting interviews, editing content, developing storytelling strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure content consistency and relevancy. You will also be responsible for meeting tight deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in News Writing, Copywriting, and Creative Writing
• Experience in Content Strategy, Research, and Storytelling
• Strong Editing and Proofreading skills to ensure content accuracy and quality
• Excellent understanding of Digital Media and Social Media Platforms
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• An interest in African culture, news, and global perspectives
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field is preferred
• Additional language skills and prior experience in journalism or media is an asset
