Iron benders

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret construction drawings and reinforcement schedules.
• Measure, cut, bend, and shape reinforcement bars according to specifications.
• Prepare and assemble steel reinforcement for columns, beams, slabs, foundations, and other structures.
• Use manual and mechanical tools and machines to cut and bend iron rods.
• Position and secure reinforcement bars using binding wire and appropriate tools.
• Ensure reinforcement is correctly spaced, aligned, and securely fixed.
• Check dimensions and quantities of reinforcement materials before installation.
• Work closely with masons, carpenters, steel fixers, site supervisors, and engineers.
• Assist with the loading, unloading, and proper storage of reinforcement materials.
• Maintain and properly use iron-bending tools, machines, and equipment.
• Minimize material waste by following cutting and bending schedules accurately.
• Follow site safety rules, procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
• Report damaged materials, equipment faults, or construction issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements:

• Proven Years of experience as an Iron Bender, Steel Fixer, or Rebar Worker.
• Practical experience in construction and reinforcement works.
• Ability to read basic structural drawings and reinforcement schedules.
• Good knowledge of reinforcement bars, binding wire, and construction materials.
• Ability to use iron-cutting and bending machines safely.
• Strong measurement and numerical skills.
• Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual work for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a construction team.
• Good understanding of construction site safety practices.
• Trade certification or apprenticeship training is an advantage.
