Job summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Iron Bender to cut, bend, shape, and assemble reinforcing steel bars (rebar) used in construction projects. The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of reinforcement work, accurate measurement skills, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on construction sites.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret construction drawings and reinforcement schedules.
- Measure, cut, bend, and shape reinforcement bars according to specifications.
- Prepare and assemble steel reinforcement for columns, beams, slabs, foundations, and other structures.
- Use manual and mechanical tools and machines to cut and bend iron rods.
- Position and secure reinforcement bars using binding wire and appropriate tools.
- Ensure reinforcement is correctly spaced, aligned, and securely fixed.
- Check dimensions and quantities of reinforcement materials before installation.
- Work closely with masons, carpenters, steel fixers, site supervisors, and engineers.
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and proper storage of reinforcement materials.
- Maintain and properly use iron-bending tools, machines, and equipment.
- Minimize material waste by following cutting and bending schedules accurately.
- Follow site safety rules, procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Report damaged materials, equipment faults, or construction issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:
- Proven Years of experience as an Iron Bender, Steel Fixer, or Rebar Worker.
- Practical experience in construction and reinforcement works.
- Ability to read basic structural drawings and reinforcement schedules.
- Good knowledge of reinforcement bars, binding wire, and construction materials.
- Ability to use iron-cutting and bending machines safely.
- Strong measurement and numerical skills.
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual work for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a construction team.
- Good understanding of construction site safety practices.
- Trade certification or apprenticeship training is an advantage.
