Job summary
The Inventory & Fleet Officer is responsible for supporting the effective management of company inventory and vehicle fleet operations. The role ensures accurate inventory records, efficient vehicle utilization, timely maintenance, and compliance with company rules. The officer works closely with the logistics team for smooth asset management.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock movement in inventory systems.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure timely replenishment and avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Conduct routine stock counts, audits, and reconciliations.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and security of inventory items.
- Prepare inventory reports and submit discrepancies for investigation.
- Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams on inventory needs.
- Assist in managing the daily operation of company vehicles and fleet assets.
- Schedule and track routine vehicle maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
- Monitor vehicle usage, fuel consumption, mileage, and driver logs.
- Ensure vehicles are licensed, insured, and compliant with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate vehicle allocation and dispatch as required.
- Maintain accurate fleet records, including service history and operational costs.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
- Prepare regular inventory and fleet performance reports.
- Report incidents, damages, breakdowns, or losses promptly.
- Support cost control initiatives and operational efficiency improvements.
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years experience in inventory control, fleet operations, or asset management.
- Experience working with inventory or fleet management systems is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of inventory control and fleet management practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and basic ERP or fleet tracking systems.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety regulations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when required.
