Internal Control Officer

About This Role
Electronic Payplus Limited (ePayplus)—Nigeria’s leading smart-card personalization and electronic payment solutions provider—is recruiting an Internal Control Officer for its facility in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State. This full-time role focuses on evaluating operational control frameworks, conducting risk assessments, performing inventory and asset verifications, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating financial discrepancies.

• Location: Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State (Applicants must reside around Ajah and immediate environs)
  

Key Responsibilities

• Risk Management & Auditing: Identify operational risks, review standard operating procedures (SOPs), and conduct scheduled departmental audits to evaluate internal control effectiveness.
• Inventory & Asset Verification: Lead periodic physical inventory stock counts (raw materials, personalized smart cards, finished goods) and asset verification exercises.
• Fraud Investigation & Reporting: Investigate process breaches or financial discrepancies, compile monthly internal control reports, and provide recommendations to executive management.
• Liaison & Staff Training: Act as the primary interface for internal and external auditors while coordinating with HR to train staff on policy compliance.
  

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Experience: 2 to 5 years of proven experience in internal control, risk assessment, or audit functions.
• Location Constraint: Must reside around Ajah and its immediate environs.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel), audit/ERP software, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Core Competencies: Analytical problem-solving, attention to detail, strong oral/written reporting skills, and deep familiarity with financial control standards.
