The Internal Auditor will independently assess financial, operational, and compliance risks across the company. You will design and execute audit plans, ensure adherence to Nigerian accounting standards (IFRS, NSA), and strengthen internal controls in a dynamic agro-processing and food manufacturing environment.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct risk-based internal audits of financial records, inventory, procurement, production, and export processes.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, identify gaps, and recommend actionable improvements.
- Review compliance with tax laws (VAT, CIT, WHT), NSITF, pension contributions, and industry regulations (NAFDAC, SON, NEPC export guidelines).
- Perform physical verification of high-value assets: cashew stock, agrochemical inventory, FMCG inventory, machinery, and finished goods.
- Investigate fraud alerts, irregularities, or policy breaches and prepare confidential reports.
- Monitor cost control in production, logistics, and export operations; flag variances and inefficiencies.
- Support external audits and liaise with statutory bodies (FRCN, CAC, tax authorities).
- Train department heads on compliance, documentation, and risk awareness.
- Maintain audit trails and documentation in line with global best practices.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proven working experience as an Internal Auditor or similar role
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and compile detailed reports
- Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules, and regulations
- High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
- Sound independent judgement
