About the Role
We're looking for a remote Instructional Designer & Assessment Specialist to create job descriptions, hiring assessments, workshop materials, and marketing copy that power our global recruitment engine and talent development programs.
You'll work across diverse roles (engineering, data, sales, marketing, operations), industries, and experience levels—including domains you've never encountered before. You'll translate client transcripts into hiring kits (job descriptions like this one, sourcing notes, interview questions, multi-hour practical tests), design learning materials for monthly workshops, and write marketing copy.
Using AI tools and prompt/context engineering approaches, you'll accelerate work while refining outputs with sharp editorial judgment. Job descriptions take 2-3 hours, practical tests take 3-4 hours. Your work directly influences candidate experience, employer satisfaction, assessment accuracy, and talent growth.
Our IDEAL CANDIDATE brings 3-5 years of experience as an Instructional Designer, Learning Designer, Technical Writer, Content Strategist, or Assessment Designer. You have exceptional English writing across business-facing, technical-facing, marketing, and instructional contexts. You have strong analytical and technical comprehension—you can understand complex domains (software engineering, data engineering, AI) even without prior experience. You're an exceptional synthesizer who extracts insights from nuanced conversations and translates ambiguity into crisp documents. You're proficient with AI tools (especially Claude.AI) and know when human judgment is essential. You bring intellectual curiosity, comfort with ambiguity, and confidence to learn rapidly rather than already knowing everything. You have high emotional intelligence for reading between the lines, take ownership, and thrive under pressure. Most importantly, you align with our feminist values and mission of creating equitable opportunities for global talent.
Your performance will be measured by content quality (hiring materials, workshops, marketing), accuracy to client requirements, turnaround time, and stakeholder satisfaction.
You’ll work closely with our Co‑Founder, Campaign Strategists, Recruiters, and Operations team. This position reports directly to the Co‑Founder.
You'll be doing things like:
- Hiring Content Development (~70% of role): Translating client call transcripts into job descriptions and hiring kits (2-3 hours each); extracting competencies from client conversations; creating practical tests with scenarios and scoring rubrics (3-4 hours each); structuring information to guide recruiters and employers; working across diverse roles (engineering, data, sales, marketing, operations), industries, and experience levels—including unfamiliar roles; using Claude.AI and internal prompts to accelerate drafting; writing sharp business-facing and technical-facing copy; learning quickly; improving prompts to streamline workflows.
- Workshop & Learning Design: Designing learning materials for monthly skill-building workshops (AI fundamentals, prioritization, systems thinking, automation, professional development); collaborating with Founders to shape themes and learning pathways; creating slide decks, worksheets, scripts, prompts, and exercises; updating content based on participant feedback and industry trends.
- Marketing Copywriting: Writing copy for marketing channels (emails, social posts, landing pages); translating complex ideas into clear, inspiring narratives; creating employer-facing and talent-facing communication assets.
- Content Systems & Quality Control: Maintaining templates and ensuring consistent formatting; using AI tools to accelerate drafting while refining outputs with strong editorial judgment; improving prompts and workflows; ensuring readability, consistency, and strong writing craft across all assets.
- Strategic Collaboration & Improvement: Collaborating with Founders, Campaign Strategists, Recruiters, and Compensation Analysts to incorporate feedback and ensure alignment; documenting learnings; proposing template and process upgrades; spotting patterns in candidate quality; recommending improvements to assessment and development standards.
