In-House Counsel
Job summary
The In-House Counsel will be responsible for providing legal guidance and support across all business operations of the company. The role involves managing contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, mitigating legal risks, and supporting commercial activities, particularly in relation to advertising sites, vendor agreements.

Responsibilities:
Contract Management & Advisory
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including client service agreements, vendor contracts, lease agreements, and partnership agreements.
- Ensure all contracts align with company policies and applicable laws.
- Provide legal advice on contract terms and business deals.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing advertising, signage, and outdoor media.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies such as Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency and other authorities where necessary.
- Monitor changes in legislation and advise management accordingly.
Risk Management:
- Identify legal risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate them.
- Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
Dispute Resolution & Litigation:
- Manage disputes, claims, and litigation involving the company.
- Liaise with external counsel and represent the company in legal proceedings where required.
- Handle debt recovery and enforcement matters.
Corporate Governance:
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and statutory requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation of legal records and company filings.
Operational Legal Support:
- Provide legal support to departments such as Client Service, Operations, Finance, and HR.
- Advise on employment matters, disciplinary actions, and labor law compliance.
Intellectual Property Management:
- Protect the company’s intellectual property, including trademarks, creative assets, and advertising content.
- Handle IP-related disputes and registrations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B); BL from the Nigerian Law School.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a legal practitioner or in-house counsel.
- Experience in media, advertising, real estate, or commercial law is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian contract law, corporate law, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
