Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s business and operational objectives.
- Lead workforce planning, manpower budgeting, succession planning, and organisational development initiatives.
- Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for technical, operational, commercial, and management positions.
- Develop effective sourcing strategies for skilled personnel within the petrochemical and manufacturing sectors.
- Manage onboarding, orientation, probation, and employee integration processes.
- Manage grievance and disciplinary procedures in accordance with company policy and applicable labour laws.
- Oversee salary structures, employee benefits, allowances, and other compensation-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Nigerian employment and labour regulations.
- Manage statutory HR documentation and liaise with relevant regulatory bodies where necessary.
- Ensure proper documentation of employee records, contracts, disciplinary actions, and other HR matters.
- Conduct training needs assessments and develop annual learning and development plans.
- Work closely with Operations and HSE teams to ensure workforce policies support a safe and productive working environment.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR databases.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5–10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within petrochemical, oil & gas, manufacturing, energy, engineering, or another industrial environment.
- Demonstrable experience managing HR operations and working with both technical and non-technical workforce.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation, training, and HR policy development.
Preferred Requirements:
- Professional certification such as CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a petrochemical, lubricant manufacturing, refinery, oil & gas, or industrial manufacturing company.
- Knowledge of HSE and industrial workforce practices will be an advantage.
