HR Executive
Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Executive to manage and strengthen the company's HR operations in Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end recruitment, employee relations, payroll coordination, HR administration, performance management, training, workforce planning, and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
- Manage the complete recruitment lifecycle from manpower planning to onboarding.
- Prepare and update Job Descriptions in coordination with department heads.
- Source candidates through job portals, recruitment agencies, professional networks, and other channels.
- Screen CVs, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate technical/management interviews.
- Manage offer negotiations, documentation, background verification, and joining formalities.
- Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline for current and future requirements.
- Ensure timely closure of vacancies based on business requirements.
HR Operations & Administration
- Manage day-to-day HR operations and maintain accurate employee records.
- Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, confirmation letters, promotion letters, warning letters, and other HR documents.
- Manage employee onboarding, probation, confirmation, transfers, promotions, and exit formalities.
- Maintain personnel files and ensure confidentiality of employee information.
- Manage attendance, leave, overtime, employee movements, and HR databases.
- Prepare regular HR reports and MIS for management.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Coordinate monthly payroll activities with the Finance/Accounts team.
- Verify attendance, leave, overtime, deductions, allowances, and other payroll inputs.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee salary information.
- Coordinate employee benefits, insurance, allowances, and other welfare programs.
- Support statutory payroll-related requirements and documentation.
Nigerian Labour Law & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure HR practices comply with applicable Nigerian labour laws and regulations.
- Maintain required HR and statutory documentation.
- Coordinate with relevant government authorities, consultants, auditors, and external HR/legal advisors when required.
- Monitor changes in employment regulations and recommend necessary updates to company policies.
- Support compliance relating to employee taxation, pension, insurance, and other applicable statutory obligations.
Employee Relations
- Act as a point of contact for employee HR-related concerns and queries.
- Handle grievances, disciplinary matters, complaints, and workplace conflicts professionally.
- Ensure fair and consistent implementation of company policies.
- Promote positive employee relations and a professional workplace culture.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze employee turnover.
Performance Management
- Coordinate annual and periodic performance appraisal processes.
- Work with department heads to establish performance objectives and KPIs.
- Monitor probation reviews, confirmations, promotions, and performance improvement plans.
- Support managers in addressing performance-related issues.
Training & Development
- Identify employee training and development requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external training programs.
- Maintain training records and evaluate training effectiveness.
- Support employee development and succession planning initiatives.
HR Policies & Processes
- Develop, implement, and periodically review HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure employees understand and comply with company policies.
- Improve HR processes to support the company's expanding Nigerian operations.
- Establish structured HR systems, documentation, and employee workflows.
Workforce Planning
- Work closely with management and department heads to identify manpower requirements.
- Prepare manpower plans and recruitment forecasts.
- Monitor workforce costs, headcount, vacancies, and employee turnover.
- Support organizational restructuring and expansion activities when required.
Team Management & Leadership
- Supervise and guide junior HR/admin staff where applicable.
- Allocate HR responsibilities and monitor completion of tasks.
- Provide guidance on recruitment, employee documentation, attendance, and HR operations.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- 7–15 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG, construction, industrial, or multinational organizations.
- Strong practical knowledge of Nigerian HR operations and employment practices.
- Experience managing end-to-end recruitment and employee lifecycle activities.
- Good knowledge of payroll coordination, employee records, HR administration, and statutory compliance.
- Experience handling employee relations, disciplinary procedures, and grievance management.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and performance management.
- Experience working independently in a growing organization is highly preferred.
- HR certification such as CIPM, SHRM, or equivalent will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and HRMS/payroll systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
