Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of HR, the HRBP will be responsible for executing the HR strategy & plans for recruitment, training, performance management as well as implementing employee benefits schemes. This person will be a trusted advisor and will work closely with other HR team members and staff to proffer solutions and resolve issues.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Responsible for building relationships amongst staff and leaders to ensure strong employee relations. provide guidance, professional advice and support to managers and staff on a wide range of strategic, operational, administrative and HR issues.

  • Responsible for managing the performance management process to include communications, coaching, training, etc. for all levels of employees within assigned business areas, to support the company’s performance process including for annual goal setting, mid-year check-in’s and year-end reviews.  

  • Leads and facilitates change based on initiatives emanating from business/functional strategies. 

  • Coordinate and manages the manpower needs of the business area including manpower planning on an annual basis for optimized headcount management.

  • Working closely with the Talent Manager on Internal/External resourcing, succession planning and career development activities for assigned populace.

  • Work with the business area to identify and build talent, coach line managers and employees helping them to be more effective.

  • Ensure line managers take the development of their teams as top priority and understand the use of development plans effectively.

  • Identify training needs for business units and individual coaching needs.

  • Work closely with management, line managers and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.

  • Attend weekly functional/business unit meetings and provide guidance and interpretation of HR policies.

  • Drive, deliver and provide guidance on all people decisions, in order to enhance team performance acting as a link between functional needs and HR specialist services i.e. Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations, Talent management etc ensuring a high level of service and support

  • Build relations with external stakeholders

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • A University Degree and/or Graduate Degree preferably in Human Resources, Business or a related field and/or equivalent combination. 

  • Professional HR certification - CIPM/CIPD/SHRM is a plus

  • Three to five (3-5) years progressive experience in HR covering at least three HR disciplines including employee relations and HRBP experience. 

  • Strong knowledge of Nigeria labour regulations and experience in HR policy administration

  • Previous experience in a similar role and a similar industry

  • Ability to influence others, including senior leaders and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

  • Computer skills (e.g., Excellent technical skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint & Office 365).   

  • Conversant with the use of HR information systems

  • Possess excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to articulate information to a variety of constituents

  • Professional maturity, sensitivity with different cultures, and impeccable integrity 

  • Hands-on and have in depth ability to handle all relevant HR operational activities.
