Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair heavy-duty mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults (engines, hydraulics, pumps, drivetrains) and act promptly.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Ensure compliance with mechanical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other trades to support operations.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely solutions.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diesel/Automotive Mechanics, or related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a heavy-duty mechanic in industrial or construction settings.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, gearboxes, and drive systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and mechanical measuring equipment.
- Familiarity with local and international mechanical codes and safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to work in demanding environments (lifting, climbing, confined spaces).
