About the Role
The Head of Operations & Marketing will have full P&L and operational ownership of our QSR business in Benin City. This is a hands-on leadership role for a QSR professional who can run the kitchen, lead the team, control costs, and grow revenue through strong marketing and customer experience. You will be accountable for daily operations, food quality, staff performance, compliance, and brand growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & P&L Management
1. Own full restaurant P&L: drive food cost ≤32%, labor cost ≤22%, and improve EBITDA margin 15%+ YoY.
2. Oversee kitchen, service, and back-of-house operations to ensure speed, consistency, and food safety standards.
3. Implement and audit SOPs for food prep, service flow, hygiene, and waste control. Reduce waste by 20%.
4. Manage inventory, procurement, and vendor relationships. Negotiate better terms and ensure uninterrupted supply chain.
5. Ensure full compliance with NAFDAC, fire safety, local council, and other regulatory requirements.
2. Team Leadership & HR
1. Recruit, onboard, train, and supervise 30+ QSR staff across kitchen, service, and delivery.
2. Build a performance culture using clear KPIs, daily huddles, and monthly appraisals. Reduce staff turnover by 30%.
3. Customer Experience & Service Quality
1. Maintain 4.5+ ratings on Google, Jumia Food, Glovo, and other delivery platforms through consistent quality + service.
2. Resolve escalations and complaints on the floor in real-time. Ensure every guest leaves satisfied.
4. Marketing, Sales & Revenue Growth
1. Own customer acquisition and retention strategy.
2. Plan and execute digital marketing: social media content, Google Business, paid ads, and local SEO.
3. Manage promotions, events, combo deals, and corporate partnerships to drive off-peak sales.
4. Optimize menu engineering and pricing based on sales data and food cost trends.
5. Data & Reporting
1. Track daily sales, labor hours, food cost, and waste. Make decisions based on data, not assumptions.
Requirements
1. Minimum 5 years as Operations Manager, Outlet Manager, or Head of Ops in a QSR, restaurant, or F&B chain in Nigeria. Multi-site experience is an advantage.
2. Proven track record with measurable results: revenue growth, cost reduction, and service score improvement. Must share numbers.
3. Hands-on with POS systems, inventory software, and delivery platforms used in Nigeria.
4. Deep knowledge of Nigerian food costs, supplier networks, and labor market dynamics.
5. Working knowledge of digital marketing, content creation, and local SEO for F&B.
6. Data-literate and process-driven. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
7. Based in Benin City or willing to relocate. Comfortable working on the floor daily.
