Job Objectives
The core objective of this role is to lead and oversee the card processing & switching and terminal operations of the company. To increase transaction processing efficiency and avoid unplanned downtime, the position requires the individual to respond to external and internal support calls. Additionally, this role ensures transaction processing monitoring and the timely escalation of critical issues.
Job Requirements
- First Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred)
- Proven knowledge of payment system infrastructure, ISO 8583 standards, card scheme operations, and NIBSS interfaces.
- Experience managing POS networks, switching engines, and API integrations.
- Strong understanding of CBN and NIBSS regulations, settlement cycles, and transaction routing processes.
- Minimum of 9 years post NYSC experience in payment operations, switching, or electronic banking, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a fintech or PSP environment.
Key Competency Requirements
- Transaction uptime and switching success rate.
- Accuracy and timeliness of settlements and reconciliations.
- Downtime frequency and recovery turnaround time (TTR).
- Reduction in failed transactions, chargebacks, and exceptions.
