Job Location:                Calabar, Cross Rivers.

Job Objective:               Provide Technical support to ECM Terminals business processes, manage

engineering operations and projects to improve efficiency in service delivery

Job Level/Grade:          Skilled

Reports To:                   General Manager

Directly Supervises:      HD Mechanics, Vulcanizers, Plumber

Key Job Responsibilities

1.           Plan and monitor all preventive and corrective repairs of HD and LD equipment and Gen sets

2.           Ensure proper record keeping of daily work activities, materials/tools used in the workshop, and updated entry of Job Orders

3.           Schedule all techs and engineers for shift work and follow through with compliance

4.           Provide technical support for Operations and facility repairs including all Civil works

5.           Liaise with vendors on work scope for outsourced activities or part delivery

6.           Prepare technical reports as required to guide management decisions

7.           Ensure optimal functionality of the Technical Service Department and workshop

8.           Coach/Train technicians and Engineers on proven processes and procedures to improve work delivery, and task management

9.           Manage general work activities of all techs and engineers to ensure productivity at all times

10.         Liaise with the procurement team on requests raised for delivery according to approved general requisition

11.         Liaise with the General store on receipts of materials required according to approve store requisition

12.         Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment to resolve maintenance issues, providing short, medium- and long-term solutions

13.         Ensure compliance to safety policy and ISO standard required for operation in the TCS Department

14.         Ensure proper housekeeping and security of the facility

Key Job Requirements:

•            Good University Degree/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

•            Minimum of  8 years of work experience as a Field Engineer, Workshop Supervisor/Superintendent in a medium or large sized organization

•            Sound technical knowledge about Heavy Duty Mechanical and Electrical functions, preventive and corrective maintenance

•            Ability to use diagnostic tools for HD or LD vehicles

•            Working Knowledge of port and shipping industry is an added advantage
