Job summary
The Haulage & Procurement Officer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, transporting, and delivering all parts, materials, tools, and equipment required for ROADMECH operations. The role ensures timely availability of quality items at the best possible cost while coordinating logistics and haulage efficiently.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Source spare parts, tires, lubricants, tools, and consumables from approved vendors.
- Compare prices, quality, and delivery timelines to achieve the best value.
- Raise purchase requests and obtain necessary approvals before buying.
- Ensure all procured items meet ROADMECH quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain a reliable supplier and vendor database.
- Coordinate transportation of parts, vehicles, and equipment to and from suppliers.
- Arrange haulage for customer vehicles, breakdown recovery, or inter-branch transfers when required.
- Ensure safe loading, transportation, and delivery of goods.
- Track deliveries and ensure the timely arrival of procured items.
- Ensure procured items are properly received, checked, and handed over to inventory/store.
- Confirm quantities, specifications, and condition of items upon delivery.
- Submit delivery notes, invoices, and receipts to accounts and inventory units.
- Control procurement and haulage costs within approved budgets.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, receipts, and logistics documentation.
- Support reconciliation between procurement, inventory, and accounts.
- Flag price increases, shortages, or supply risks to management.
