Role Description The Freelance Psychologist role is a part-time, remote position focused on delivering high-quality online therapy services to clients through secure video and chat sessions. The psychologist will conduct psychological assessments, provide individual and couples counseling, and support clients with a range of mental health concerns using evidence-based therapeutic modalities. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, developing personalized treatment plans, and coordinating care with other mental health professionals when needed. The role also involves educating clients on coping strategies, monitoring progress over time, and using TherapyMantra’s digital tools to enhance engagement and outcomes. Availability during agreed-upon hours and adherence to professional and ethical guidelines are essential.
Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Psychology and Mental Health, with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical, client-centered care.
  • Competence in Counseling and Psychological Assessment, including experience conducting therapeutic sessions and structured evaluations.
  • Relevant background in Medicine or clinical settings that supports integrated understanding of mental and physical health.
  • Advanced degree in Psychology or a related field (Master’s or Doctorate) and current licensure or certification to practice as a psychologist in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Experience with online or telehealth counseling platforms and comfort with using digital tools for therapy and documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with a commitment to culturally sensitive and non-judgmental care.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage a part-time caseload, and maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Prior experience in individual, couples, or family therapy and familiarity with evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, or mindfulness-based approaches.
