Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive financial management: Oversee budgets, and internal controls, and foster fiscal responsibility within the organization.
  • Drive budget planning and oversight: Collaborate with department heads to develop detailed annual budgets and monitor financial performance.
  • Ensure robust financial management: Record and analyze financial transactions, manage daily cash flow, and prepare financial statements and reports.
  • Implement internal control and risk management: Develop and implement procedures to safeguard company assets and conduct regular audits.
  • Manage ERP systems: Ensure data accuracy in the ERP system and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Foster collaboration and communication: Work closely with various teams to streamline processes and communicate effectively on financial matters.
  • Contribute to training and development: Conduct budget-related training sessions and foster a culture of financial responsibility.

In your day-to-day, you will be expected to:

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Conduct scenario analysis to assess the impact of various factors on financial outcomes.
  • Record and analyze financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage daily cash flow, reconciling accounts daily.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and forecasts.
  • Oversee daily cash handling processes, ensuring accuracy and accountability with shoppers, sorters, and customer success teams.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and liaise with external auditors as needed.
  • Conduct weekly audits to ensure compliance with established controls.
  • Investigate and address discrepancies or irregularities promptly.
  • Assess and enhance security measures related to cash and inventory.
  • Work closely with the customer success team to streamline order processes.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Professional certification such as ACCA or CPA is highly preferred.


Experience:

  • Proven experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and internal control roles.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and proficiency in accounting software.
  • Experience in developing and implementing internal control procedures.
  • Track record of successful collaboration with various departments on financial matters.
  • Experience in conducting financial training sessions and fostering fiscal responsibility.


Skills:

  • The ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights is essential in this role.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis techniques and tools is highly desirable.
  • A solid understanding of financial principles, accounting concepts, and financial statements is crucial.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and accounting software is important for data analysis, financial reporting, and budget management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration with team members and management on financial matters.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize work effectively is important in this fast-paced environment.
