The General Accountant is responsible for ensuring the absolute integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the company’s financial records.

- Perform daily and weekly reconciliations of all corporate bank accounts against point-of-sale (POS) terminals, direct bank transfers, and cash collections.
- Reconcile sub-ledgers against the general ledger, specifically focusing on high-value Accounts Receivable (corporate fleet clients, equipment leasing accounts) and Accounts Payable (spare parts vendors, equipment manufacturers).
- Conduct regular reconciliation between the physical inventory counts (vehicles, generators, solar/inverter equipment, and workshop spare parts) and the digital records in the system.
- Manage the monthly processing of the company payroll, ensuring the precise calculation, deduction, and remittance of employee taxes (PAYE) and pensions.
- Serve as the financial gatekeeper to ensure that "whatever comes in is documented," verifying that all customer payments map directly to a valid system invoice or sales receipt.
- Maintain an orderly, bulletproof digital and physical filing system for all import declarations, customs clearance papers, and supplier receipts to establish a clear audit trail.
- Assist in preparing the annual schedules, provisions, and computations for Corporate Income Tax and Education Tax filings.
Requirements:
- Practical proficiency in modern Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or specialized Dealership Management Systems (e.g., Odoo, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks Online, or Sage).
- Strong capability in utilizing VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, SumIfs, and data cleaning techniques for matching massive volumes of transaction data.
- Direct experience navigating and filing returns on national/local electronic tax administration portals.
- Understanding of landed cost calculations, double-entry bookkeeping, and inventory valuation rules (FIFO/Weighted Average) for high-value machinery and parts.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a strictly business-related field.
- Must be a chartered member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or possess an equivalent recognized professional qualification (e.g., ACCA).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of solid experience working as an Accountant or Account Officer handling payroll, reconciliations, and regulatory filings.
- Previous experience working within an automotive dealership, a structured mechanical/engineering workshop, a heavy machinery retail environment, or a renewable energy/power solutions company is a plus.

- Audit Readiness Score: Delivery of clean, fully supported reconciliation schedules to external auditors within the first week of the audit kickoff.
