Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans aligned with upstream, midstream, or downstream operations.
  • Oversee timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity positions, and working capital to ensure operational continuity.
  • Supervise the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury functions, ensuring efficient transaction processing.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian oil and gas fiscal regimes, including Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) tax obligations, royalties, and levies.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate the timely completion of statutory and management audits.
  • Develop and enforce internal financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Provide financial analysis and decision support to senior management on investment appraisals, cost optimization, and capital allocation.
  • Manage relationships with financial institutions, lenders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee fixed asset management, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure tracking for oil and gas equipment and facilities.
  • Prepare financial reports for joint venture partners, PSC parties, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Supervise and mentor the finance team, conducting performance appraisals and identifying training needs


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification: ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CFA (mandatory).
  • Minimum of 4–10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 4 years in the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, PIA provisions, oil and gas fiscal regimes, and Costing.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Tally, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in Manufacturing.
