Role Description
This is a part-time, remote Finance Content Writer (Volunteer) role with flexible hours. The Finance Content Writer will research and produce clear, accurate, and insightful articles on Nigerian companies, NGX-listed stocks, and broader macroeconomic and market trends. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing financial statements, corporate filings, and market data, then turning them into accessible, well-structured written content for a broad audience. The person in this role will collaborate with editors and analysts to refine story angles, ensure factual accuracy, and maintain an objective, data-driven tone. The writer will also help brainstorm content ideas, optimize articles for digital publishing, and stay up to date on developments in Nigeria’s business and capital markets.
Qualifications
- Strong finance and business understanding, including basic familiarity with financial statements, capital markets, and corporate governance.
- Demonstrated writing ability, with experience in finance, business journalism, or economic commentary preferred.
- Research and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and distill complex information into clear narratives.
- Attention to detail, with strong proofreading and self-editing habits to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Comfort working in a digital environment, including using online research tools, collaboration platforms, and basic content management systems.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate proactively in a fully remote setup.
- Relevant academic background (e.g., Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Journalism, or related fields) or equivalent practical experience.
- Genuine interest in Nigerian markets, corporate transparency, and empowering audiences with high-quality financial insights.
