Job summary

Provide on-site mechanical and piping engineering support for oil and gas construction projects by coordinating field activities, ensuring HSE and QA/QC compliance, supporting installation, testing and commissioning, resolving technical issues, and delivering work safely, efficiently, and to project standards.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site mechanical and piping engineering support for onshore oil & gas construction projects.
  • Plan and coordinate mechanical/piping construction activities in line with project schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Review and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and engineering standards (API, ASME, ISO, NORSOK).
  • Support installation, testing, commissioning, and design change management.
  • Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation, QA/QC, and Construction teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Enforce HSE policies, Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements, and safe work practices.
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHA/JSA) and implement risk controls.
  • Monitor QA/QC activities, including welding, coatings, equipment installation, and inspections.
  • Coordinate pressure testing, alignment checks, vibration analysis, leak testing, and mechanical integrity verification.
  • Support commissioning procedures and acceptance testing.
  • Manage field materials, storage, tracking, and tool calibration.
  • Support fabrication activities, including flange management, bolt torquing, coating, and painting coordination.


Requirements:

  •  Strong knowledge of mechanical and piping engineering in the oil & gas industry.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and engineering specifications.
  • Familiarity with API, ASME, ISO, and NORSOK standards.
  • Experience supporting installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC processes, welding inspections, and mechanical integrity.
  • Strong understanding of HSE practices, Permit-to-Work systems, and risk assessments (JHA/JSA).
  • Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
  • Experience managing field materials, tools, inspections, and construction documentation.
