Factory Planner

Responsibilities:

Production Planning:

• Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
• Prepare and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
• Allocate production capacity efficiently across production lines.
• Balance production demand with available manpower, machine capacity, and raw material availability.
• Continuously review and update production schedules to accommodate changing business priorities.

Production Coordination:

• Coordinate production activities with Production Supervisors and Factory Managers.
• Monitor execution of production plans and recommend adjustments where necessary.
• Ensure production targets are achieved within agreed timelines.
• Communicate production priorities to all relevant departments.
• Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and ensure smooth production flow.

Material Planning:

• Determine raw material, packaging material, and consumable requirements based on production plans.
• Liaise with Procurement to ensure timely availability of production materials.
• Monitor inventory levels and recommend replenishment.
• Prevent production interruptions caused by stock shortages.
• Minimize excess inventory and obsolete stock.

Inventory Control:

• Monitor finished goods inventory to ensure optimal stock levels.
• Track inventory turnover and recommend improvements.
• Reconcile production outputs with inventory records.
• Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
• Work closely with Warehouse to improve inventory accuracy.

Production Performance Monitoring:

• Track daily production performance against plan.
• Analyze production variances and identify root causes.
• Prepare production performance dashboards.
• Monitor production efficiency, machine utilization, and labour productivity.
• Recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

Capacity Planning:

• Evaluate available production capacity.
• Identify production bottlenecks.
• Recommend resource allocation improvements.
• Support expansion planning and capacity optimization.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to reduce downtime during production.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 4 years of experience
• A minimum of a BSc in a related field

Reporting:

• Prepare Daily Production Reports.
• Prepare Weekly Production Performance Reports.
• Prepare Monthly Production Planning Reports.
• Generate inventory planning reports.
• Present planning updates during management meetings.
• Maintain accurate production planning records.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to improve planning accuracy.
• Reduce production delays and changeover times.
• Improve schedule adherence.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Support implementation of production planning systems and ERP solutions.
