Job summary

The Factory HRBP will lead all people-related initiatives within the factory, including recruitment, employee relations, industrial relations, performance management, learning and development, compliance, employee engagement, succession planning, workforce planning, and policy implementation. The role requires a proactive professional.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Partnership:

  • Partner with Factory Management to drive the achievement of operational and business objectives through effective people management.
  • Translate business goals into practical HR strategies and initiatives.
  • Provide professional HR guidance to line managers on workforce planning, productivity, organizational effectiveness, and employee management.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, discipline, and operational excellence across the factory.
  • Participate in management meetings and contribute to strategic business decisions.


Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment for all factory-based positions.
  • Ensure timely sourcing of competent technical and operational talent.
  • Develop manpower plans aligned with production demands.
  • Oversee onboarding, induction, confirmation, and employee integration.
  • Maintain a strong succession pipeline for critical factory roles.


Employee & Industrial Relations:

  • Promote harmonious employee relations across all factory departments.
  • Investigate and resolve employee grievances in a timely and professional manner.
  • Lead disciplinary processes in line with company policy and statutory regulations.
  • Conduct investigations into misconduct and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Foster a positive work environment built on fairness, discipline, and mutual respect.
  • Support management in maintaining healthy industrial relations.


Performance Management:

  • Coordinate the annual and periodic performance management process.
  • Ensure departments establish measurable KPIs aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor employee performance and coordinate Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
  • Coach managers on effective performance conversations and employee development.
  • Drive a culture of continuous feedback and high performance.


Learning & Development:

  • Identify competency gaps and training needs across the factory.
  • Coordinate technical, leadership, behavioural, safety, and compliance training.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support leadership development and succession planning programs.


HR Operations:

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Administer employee lifecycle processes, including transfers, promotions, confirmations, exits, and separations.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with HR policies.
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide retention improvement recommendations.
  • Prepare monthly HR reports, dashboards, and workforce analytics.


Employee Engagement & Culture:

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives that improve morale, productivity, and retention.
  • Coordinate employee recognition and reward programs.
  • Promote Colton Group's core values and organizational culture.
  • Support internal communication and change management initiatives.


Compensation & Benefits Administration:

  • Collaborate with Payroll to ensure employee records are accurate for salary processing.
  • Monitor attendance, leave administration, overtime, and shift schedules.
  • Support annual salary reviews and employee welfare initiatives.
  • Ensure fair and equitable implementation of compensation policies.


Compliance & Governance:

  • Ensure full compliance with Nigerian Labour Laws and all statutory employment regulations.
  • Implement and monitor adherence to company HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and HR documentation.
  • Partner with HSE to promote workplace safety, employee wellness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support internal and external HR audits.


HR Analytics:

  • Prepare monthly HR metrics and reports for Management.
  • Analyse trends relating to turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, engagement, and productivity.
  • Recommend data-driven interventions to improve organizational performance.
  • Maintain the integrity of HRIS and employee databases.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of a BSC
  • 4 years of previous experience in a similar role
