Factory Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Organise and oversee the factory Accounting & finance function, form and manage a formidable Accounting &finance structure to ensure close alignment to business needs and changes in processes.
• Full responsibility and custody of the general ledger, which includes maintenance of the Accounts Payable and Receivables, Bank reconciliations, Inventory Management and movement reconciliations.
• Review and ensure proper approvals for all payments, ensuring proper classification and reconciliation for all transactions, including the petty cash system, reimbursements and bank payments processing.
• Responsible for Budgeting & budgetary reviews, financial controls, reporting and other financial management processes.
• Provide stewardship for the business's internal control framework and process assurance, supporting the business for effective compliance with both internal policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements at both federal and state levels.
• Manage flawlessly, annual statutory audits and tax compliance audit processes.
• Other specific task as below are required: Manufacturing operations Book keeping and Accounting, Sales Accounting, Payroll Accounting, Fixed Asset Schedule, Register & Accountin, Account Receivable and Payable management, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Budgeting, Forecasting and analysis, Internal Controls & Audit coordination and reconciliations, Tax compliance, filing and management, Product Costing and analysis, Petty cash system, Bank transfer processing and reconciliation, External Audit& Tax audit schedules, reconciliation and coordination and Management & stakeholders reporting.

Requirements:

• ACCA/ACA qualified/qualified accountant or equivalent
• Previous manufacturing experience/sound manufacturing background with 10 years post qualification
• Good knowledge of costing/factory processes
• Familiarity with Tally ERP
• Good systems knowledge analysis
• Strong communication skills, as a large part of the role will comprise relating financial issues to non-finance managers.
• Tenacious and able to challenge the status quo when required.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Capable of working proactively with an innovative approach to problem-solving
• High degree of IT literacy
• Strong computer skills (Access, Excel, Word, Manufacturing Operating Systems), ability to be flexible with different systems.
• Strong financial & analytical skills; planning, organizing skills & problem-solving skills
• Background from similar sized organisation, especially a pet bottled beverage company, with experience in business and Factory management.
• Residents in Kano state & Environs, and/or who can easily relocate to Kano state, are highly preferred
