Role Description The Executive Legal Assistant will provide high-level support to attorneys and firm leadership, helping to manage complex legal matters and daily operations. This contract role is based in Ibadan in a hybrid arrangement, with a mix of in-office work and some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and formatting legal documents, organizing case files, maintaining calendars and deadlines, and coordinating meetings, travel, and client communications. The Executive Legal Assistant will assist with legal research, review of documentation, and drafting correspondence, while ensuring confidentiality and accurate record keeping. The role also involves liaising with regulatirs and external stakeholders, supporting cross-border matters, and contributing to efficient workflow across the firm.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law and experience supporting Legal Assistants or legal teams
- Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, policies, formatting, and reviewing legal correspondence and agreements
- Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, for interaction with clients, counsel, and internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated Administrative Assistance capabilities, including scheduling, file management, and office organization
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality
- High attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and strong organizational skills
- Comfort with hybrid work, including use of digital tools for remote collaboration and document management
- Relevant academic qualification in Law, Legal Studies, or a related field; prior experience in a law firm or corporate legal department is an advantage
- Familiarity with international or commercial law matters and cross-border transactions is beneficial
