English Language Tutor (Online, Full Time)

Naijatutors Konnect is seeking a qualified and experienced English & Literature Tutor to teach students aged 9–16 in a fully virtual learning environment. This role requires someone who is passionate about the subject, experienced with online instruction, and familiar with British, Canadian, or Nigerian curricula.

The ideal candidate knows how to bring literature and language to life through the screen — using digital tools to teach reading comprehension, spoken English, writing, and literary analysis in a way that captivates students and builds long-term skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach English Language and Literature in both 1-on-1 and group classes
  

• Deliver 60-minute lessons that are engaging, structured, and curriculum-aligned
  

• Support students with reading comprehension, grammar, creative and academic writing, and text analysis
  

• Adapt teaching style to suit different learning needs, goals, and grade levels
  

• Find and curate high-quality resources to enrich lessons
  

• Use digital platforms (e.g., Zoom, MeritHub, Google Docs, Forms, PowerPoint) to teach interactively
  

• Assign and review homework, give feedback, and track student progress
  

• Communicate regularly with parents, sharing updates and addressing concerns
  

• Work remotely with a laptop, webcam, and strong internet connection
  

Requirements
✅ A degree in English, English Literature
✅ Minimum of 2 years online teaching experience
✅ Experience teaching within the British and/or North American curriculum
✅ Speaks English at an idiomatic level
✅ Passionate about the English language and helping students excel
✅ Warm, energetic, and engaging personality
✅ Confident using digital teaching tools: video conferencing, presentations, quizzes, interactive docs
✅ Proficient with Zoom, Google Docs, Google Forms, PowerPoint, and quiz tools
✅ Stable, high-speed internet and a professional home teaching setup
