Electrician

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, equipment, and systems.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Install lighting systems, switches, sockets, distribution boards, and electrical panels.
• Install and maintain electrical cables, conduits, trunking, and cable trays.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and carry out necessary repairs.
• Test electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical installations and equipment.
• Identify damaged or defective electrical components and recommend replacements.
• Ensure electrical installations comply with relevant safety standards and project specifications.
• Use electrical testing instruments and hand tools safely and correctly.
• Work closely with engineers, technicians, plumbers, carpenters, and other construction workers.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical work, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Keep tools and equipment clean and in good working condition.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Report electrical faults, safety hazards, and material requirements to the supervisor.

Requirements:

• Proven years of practical electrical experience.
• Proven experience in construction, residential, commercial, or industrial electrical work.
• Good knowledge of electrical wiring, installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and diagrams.
• Proficiency in using electrical tools and testing equipment.
• Good knowledge of electrical safety standards and procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and comfortable working at heights when required.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Trade certification, apprenticeship, or relevant electrical qualification is an advantage.
