Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Image Selection and Curation: Review large batches of photos from photographers or stock agencies to choose the strongest, most relevant images that fit a story.
- Photo Editing and Retouching: Use software like Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom to adjust colour balance, exposure, contrast, cropping, and retouching to meet publication standards.
- Assigning and Commissioning Projects: Hire photographers, pitch visual concepts, and coordinate photo shoots, including booking studios, arranging travel, and obtaining permits.
- Collaboration and Art Direction: Work closely with art directors, editors-in-chief, and writers to align visuals with the publication's brand, tone, and layout.
- Copyright and License Management: Clear image rights, negotiate fees with photographers or agencies, and ensure legal and ethical compliance for all published media.
- Deadline and Workflow Management: Track assignment progress, manage image databases or archives, and ensure all visual assets are ready on time for print or web publication.
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of OND
- 2 years of previous experience in a similar role
Remuneration: NGN 150,000
