Driver

Responsibilities:

• Operate/drive heavy-duty trucks safely within the Zurfi mining site in compliance with site safety rules, traffic management plans, and company policies.
• Transport mined materials, overburden, equipment, fuel, and construction materials to designated dump points, stockpiles, or processing areas.
• Conduct daily pre-start, in-shift, and post-shift inspections of assigned vehicles and report defects immediately to the supervisor or maintenance team.
• Ensure proper loading, securing, and unloading of materials to prevent spillage, equipment damage, or accidents.
• Follow all mining safety procedures, including PPE usage, speed limits, radio communication protocols, and signage within the site.
• Maintain accurate trip sheets, logbooks, fuel records, and other required operational documentation.
• Coordinate effectively with excavator operators, site supervisors, safety officers, and maintenance personnel.
• Immediately report accidents, near-misses, unsafe conditions, or mechanical breakdowns according to site reporting procedures.
• Carry out basic routine checks such as oil, coolant, brakes, tires, lights, and ensure vehicle cleanliness.
• Adhere strictly to environmental protection guidelines, including dust control, spill prevention, and waste management.

Requirements:

• Extensive and proven driving experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Good knowledge of routes within the North-West and North-Central zones
• Experience driving in construction or site environments is an added advantage
• Responsible, disciplined, and safety-conscious

Renumeration: Salary is subject to review based on performance, work attitude, and responsibility.
