Job summary
The Drilling Engineer / Specialist I is responsible for the engineering planning, design, surveillance, and follow-up required for the safe and efficient execution of drilling and well completion programs. The role ensures well objectives are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of engineering integrity, safety, and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities:
- Develop drilling and well completion programs based on geological, reservoir, and operational requirements.
- Review offset well data to identify drilling hazards and incorporate mitigation measures into well plans.
- Prepare well design options, cost estimates, and equipment requirements for drilling operations.
- Design wells in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Prepare and evaluate technical bids for drilling equipment and services.
- Monitor drilling and completion activities through rig site surveillance and engineering assessments.
- Provide technical support for equipment testing, new procedures, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Operations, Geology, Reservoir, and Project teams to ensure well plans meet project objectives.
- Support deepwater drilling activities where required, including subsea systems, riser analysis, and well control operations.
- Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate engineering documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in drilling engineering, well planning, and drilling operations within the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of well planning, drilling engineering, and well completion operations.
- Experience with industry-standard well design software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of drilling safety, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of deepwater drilling operations and subsea systems is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Proven experience supporting drilling and completion programs from planning through execution.
- Experience conducting rig site surveillance and engineering assessments.
- Ability to analyze technical bids and coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in an onsite environment.
