Job Description/Requirements


ColdHubs Ltd. (www.coldhubs.com) is a social enterprise that designs, installs, commissions, and operates 100% solar-powered 3tons, 10tons and 100tons walk-in cold rooms branded as "ColdHubs", and 1ton per day “IcePoints” in outdoor food markets, fresh produce aggregation centers and farm clusters. The Hubs and ice blocks are used by smallholder farmers, retailers, and wholesalers, to store and preserve fresh fruits, vegetables, and other perishable foods 24/7, extending their shelf life from 2 days to 21 days.


In addition to deploying cold storage and ice points, ColdHubs offers world class refrigerated transportation service using a fleet of remotely monitored, brand new 10 and 20tons refrigerated trucks and 3.5tons vans to maintain the integrity of fresh produce during distribution.


ColdHubs produces returnable plastic crates for the appropriate packaging of fresh fruits and vegetables. The crates are specially designed to optimize supply chain and logistics operations. They are stackable, durable, and lightweight, making them ideal for transporting goods efficiently, reducing transportation costs, and minimizing fresh produce damage.


ColdHubs ColdConnect Mobile Application enables customers to order and monitor cold storage, refrigerated transportation and packaging materials virtually.


Beyond technology, ColdHubs tackles limited awareness and knowledge base of food supply chain actors by organizing and imparting on them, comprehensive skills and knowledge on post-harvest management of perishable food using local language educational comics which educates them on best harvest methods, handling, sorting and grading, packing using returnable plastic crates, on-farm cooling, packing house, best practices in transportation, storage and preservation to avoid spoilage in the market, managing spoilage during sales, the ColdHubs advantage, nutritional value of high quality fruits and vegetables and financial gains due to high quality fruits and vegetables.


We seek to hire a full-time DEVELOPMENT, IMPACT LEARNING AND SHARING OFFICER (DILSO), as part of the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) to work at the Head Office.

 

Responsibilities of the Development, Impact Learning and Sharing Officer (DILSO)

 

  • Grant proposal development: Contribute to the identification of funding opportunities, develop and write grant proposals.
  • Compliance monitoring: Ensure all grant activities, expenditures, and reporting adhere to the specific rules and regulations of the funding organizations.
  • Financial management: Monitor grant budgets, manage financial reporting, and ensure compliance with cost allocation and other financial policies.
  • Implementation management: Manage project implement activities and prepare all project implementation reports.
  • Risk management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks associated with grants.
  • Auditing: Prepare all audits, provide internal control oversight to ensure accountability.
  • Capacity building: Provide training and guidance to staff and sub-recipients on grant management and compliance.
  • Documentation and archiving: Maintain accurate records and ensure proper documentation for all grant-related communications and agreements.
  • Design and implement MEL systems: Create and manage monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks, strategies, and tools to track performance against all ColdHubs program goals.
  • Data collection and analysis: Gather and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data to assess outcomes and impact. Conducts baseline surveys, field interviews, and other research studies.
  • Reporting and documentation: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including donors. Document case studies, lessons learned, and best practices to inform program direction.
  • Knowledge management and sharing: Develop platforms and strategies for sharing knowledge and learning across teams, partners, and the wider organization to foster continuous improvement.
  • Capacity building: Train and mentor staff and partners in M&E techniques, data collection methods, and reporting standards.
  • Strategic guidance: Provide technical advice to senior specialists and project managers to ensure that evaluation findings are used to guide strategic decisions and improve program design.


Requirements for Development, Impact Learning and Sharing Officer (DILSO)

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Humanities, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or other relevant fields. Master’s degree will be an advantage.
  • Job experience: 5 to 10 years of solid, practical, and working knowledge in the NGO and international development sector.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and reporting donor funded project implementation.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and productivity software.
  • Regular travels within Nigeria.
  • Self-motivated and trustworthy.
  • Resumes daily at the ColdHubs Head Office.
