Role Description The Conference Volunteer role is an on-site volunteer position based in Ibadan. Volunteers support event setup and breakdown, assist with attendee registration and check-in, and guide participants to sessions and activity areas. They help manage crowd flow, provide information about the conference schedule, and assist speakers and organizers with logistics needs. Volunteers also support communication across teams, coordinate materials such as badges and programs, and contribute to maintaining a welcoming and organized environment throughout the event.
Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with diverse attendees and team members.
• Organizational and time-management abilities, including managing multiple tasks during fast-paced event periods.
• Customer service mindset and problem-solving skills to address attendee questions and resolve minor issues calmly.
• Teamwork and collaboration skills, with a willingness to follow directions and support other volunteers and organizers.
• Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to be available on-site in Ibadan for the duration of the conference and key preparation times.
• Comfort with basic technology (e.g., smartphones, registration tools) and readiness to learn event processes quickly.
• Previous experience in events, hospitality, or community service is beneficial but not required.
