Job summary

We are seeking a highly skilled, innovative, and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, supervising, and managing civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with industry standard.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and oversee the construction of buildings, roads, bridges, drainage systems, and other civil engineering projects.
  • Prepare engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and structural assessments.
  • Review project designs to ensure compliance with engineering standards and client requirements.
  • Develop project schedules, cost estimates, and resource plans.
  • Supervise construction activities to ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, safety, and project progress.
  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Resolve technical issues and recommend engineering solutions during project execution.
  • Ensure projects are completed within budget and agreed timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, engineering standards, and health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct quality inspections on construction materials and workmanship.
  • Review contractors' work and ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and site records.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, and resource utilization.
  • Prepare progress reports and present updates to management and clients.
  • Manage project risks and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Coordinate project meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Promote and enforce workplace health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Ensure all site personnel comply with safety procedures and regulations.
  • Identify project risks and implement preventive measures.
  • Participate in safety inspections and incident investigations.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven years of relevant experience in civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is an added advantage.
  • Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) is desirable.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD Pro, ETABS, Revit, or other engineering software.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, engineering principles, and project management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
