Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Security Guard with expertise in dog handling to ensure the safety and security of our church premises, congregation, and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security operations and experience handling and working with security dogs. The candidate must be knowledgeable about canine behaviour, training techniques, and proper care practices to maintain the health and performance of the dogs.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Patrol and monitor church premises, including buildings, grounds, and parking areas, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security.
- Handle and manage the trained security dog to assist in patrolling, detecting intrusions, and responding to security incidents.
- Train dogs using positive reinforcement and other effective training techniques.
- Provide daily care, including feeding, grooming, and exercise.
- Monitor dogs' health and well-being, administering medications and treatments as needed.
- Maintain clean and safe living environments for the dogs.
- Schedule and attend regular veterinary check-ups and vaccinations
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of members, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of premises.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, ensuring the safety of all individuals on church property.
- Conduct regular inspections of doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
- Report any irregularities, suspicious activities, or security breaches to the Head of Security or Church Administrator.
- Maintain a daily log of activities, incidents, and any security-related issues.
- Provide assistance and support to church staff and congregation members as needed.
- Follow all safety and security protocols and procedures established by the church.
Specific Responsibilities Regarding Church Equipment:
- On service days, assist with the secure setup and monitoring of church equipment, including sound systems, musical instruments, and other valuable items.
- Ensure all equipment is safely moved and stored in designated secure areas after services and events.
- Conduct regular checks on the condition and security of equipment, reporting any concerns or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel
- During non-service days, ensure that all equipment remains securely stored and is not tampered with, moved, or accessed without authorization.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a security guard, preferably with knowledge and skills in dog handling.
- Strong observation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to handle the demands of patrolling and managing a security dog.
- Must live within the church premises.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Ability to handle and manage a security dog, including walking, training, and responding to situations.
Remuneration: NGN 60,000
