Chinese Translator

Responsibilities:

• Translating technical manuals, legal contracts, business correspondence, and marketing materials accurately while preserving the original meaning.
• Reviewing translated texts to ensure correct grammar, syntax, and consistent terminology across all company documents.
• Converting audio or video files from Chinese dialects into accurate, readable English text or vice versa.
• Building and updating bilingual glossaries (especially for highly technical fields like engineering, medicine, or law) to prevent miscommunication.
• Providing consecutive (speaking after the speaker pauses) or simultaneous (speaking concurrently) translation during live meetings, conferences, and negotiations.
• Explaining cultural nuances, idioms, and social contexts so that foreign companies can navigate business etiquette and avoid misunderstandings with Chinese partners.
• In local environments like Lagos and across Nigeria, translators act as the vital communication link between Chinese-speaking expats/management and local Nigerian staff to ensure smooth daily operations, compliance, and workplace safety.

Requirements:

• Male
• Fluent in both Chinese and English
• Able to drive
• HSK Level 4 or above in Chinese
• Ability to communicate fluently with Chinese people in daily life.
• Preference will be given to candidates with study abroad experience in China or factory management experience.
