Cashier
Job summary
The Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently while providing excellent customer service. This role ensures proper cash handling, maintains a clean checkout area, and supports daily sales operations.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
- Process sales transactions using cash registers or POS systems.
- Receive payments in cash, card, or electronic transfer and issue receipts.
- Ensure correct pricing, scanning, and billing of items.
- Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and refunds professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier area.
- Assist with stock checking and product display when required.
- Follow company policies and security procedures to prevent losses.
- Minimum of SSCE / High School Certificate (OND is an advantage).
- Previous cashier or customer service experience is an added advantage.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to operate POS systems and handle cash accurately.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Honest, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Well-presented and customer-focused.
