Responsibilities:
- Market Strategy & Intelligence: Gather deep local market insights, analyze industry trends, and formulate effective market development strategies for the Kano region.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Actively visit and build strong relationships with key government parastatals (e.g., Ministry of Works, Ministry of Transport, Water Resources) and large private enterprises.
- Project Acquisition: Identify and track potential infrastructure projects, obtain early-stage project information, and build a robust business pipeline.
- Tendering & Bidding: Coordinate with the Abuja HQ to prepare and submit competitive bid documents, ensuring all local submission requirements are met.
- Site Surveys: Conduct preliminary on-site project surveys, collect technical data, and draft accurate site assessment reports.
- Local Resource Development: Identify and build a database of reliable local subcontractors, suppliers, and potential joint-venture partners in Kano.
- Reporting: Maintain a high level of communication with the Abuja Headquarters, submitting comprehensive weekly and monthly market activity reports.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc./HND) or above.
- A background in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Language: Bilingual proficiency is mandatory. Must speak and write fluently in both English and Hausa to effectively engage with local stakeholders.
- Experience: Proven experience in business development, sales, or project coordination within the construction, engineering, or real estate sectors.
- Local Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Kano socio-economic landscape. Candidates with existing networks within Kano government agencies and major businesses will have a distinct advantage.
- High Integrity & Loyalty: Honest, dependable, and seeking a long-term career commitment.
- Charismatic & Approachable: Possesses a great sense of humor, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to easily build rapport with diverse groups of people.
- Self-Motivated: Highly autonomous, capable of managing daily operations independently without micro-management.
- Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for professional reporting.
- Mobility: Must hold a valid driver's license and be willing to travel extensively within Kano and neighboring states.
