Broadcast Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Head of the engineering department.
• Setting up, testing, and repairing studio and transmission hardware such as audio mixers, transmitters, and fiber links.
• Providing technical support during live recordings and broadcasts, ensuring seamless audio/video quality, and quickly resolving technical faults to minimize downtime.
• Monitoring and managing audio/video signals, including encoding, compression, and transmission to platforms, ensuring compliance with technical standards.
• Researching and implementing new broadcasting technologies, including IT-based systems, cloud technologies, and IP-based solutions.
• Performing routine inspections and calibrations on infrastructure, maintaining technical logs, and adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Coordinating with production teams and management to improve studio design, manage technical projects, and train staff on equipment operation.

Requirements:

• Minimum of HND, BSc, or a broadcasting engineer, etc.
• 2 years of previous experience in a similar role.
• Must be able to prevent maintenance.
• Emergence troubleshooting under pressure.
• Must know about Studio Codex and the microphone playback/automation system.
• Must know transmission basics.
• Knowledge of audio chain setup and fault finding.
• Knowledge of NBC and extra.
• Must be ready to work.
