Job summary
The Bricklayer is responsible for laying bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials to construct and repair walls and structures for warehouse buildings. The role ensures that construction work is completed accurately, safely, and according to engineering and building specifications.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials according to construction plans
- Prepare and spread mortar to bond bricks and blocks securely
- Measure and align structures using levels, rulers, and plumb lines
- Construct walls, partitions, and other masonry structures
- Repair and maintain existing brickwork when required
- Cut or shape bricks and blocks to fit around openings and corners
- Follow construction drawings and site instructions
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Work with other construction team members, such as carpenters and engineers
- Ensure quality workmanship and adherence to building standards
Requirements:
- Minimum of SSCE or vocational training in masonry or construction
- Proven experience as a bricklayer in construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings
- Knowledge of masonry tools and equipment
- Good physical strength and stamina
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a team and follow site safety procedures
- Experience in large-scale construction projects is an advantage
