Job Summary
We are looking for a Blasting Helper to join our team at Dangote Cement Plc. As a Blasting Helper, you will be responsible for assisting in filling blast holes with explosives and detonating explosives to dislodge limestone and rock. You will ensure the proper handling and storage of explosives and accessories, as well as follow safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Minimum Qualification : High School (S.S.C.E)
- Experience Level : Entry level
- Experience Length : 2 years
Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Assist in loading explosives in blast holes by hand or direct movement of bulk explosives trucks to load holes
- Assemble primer charges using selected detonators, fuses, detonating cords, and other materials
- Handle, store, and transport explosives and accessories in accordance with regulations
- Achieve good fragmentation through proper stemming and good connection at all times
- Follow safety procedures and ensure that safety regulations are observed
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the blaster.
Requirements:
- A Secondary School Certificate
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in blasting or around any mining activities
- Knowledge of explosives handling and storage regulations
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
