Job summary
Are you an experienced Human Resources professional who is fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English? Do you have a passion for building high-performing teams and working in a multicultural environment? We are looking for a highly skilled Bilingual HR Generalist to work directly with our Chinese Management Team.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Defining job roles, writing job descriptions, sourcing candidates, and conducting interviews.
- Guiding the hiring process alongside department managers to select top talent.
- Managing offer letters, new hire orientation, benefits enrollment, and IT setups to smoothly integrate new team members.
- Designing and administering performance evaluation processes, goal-setting, and feedback frameworks.
- Identifying skills gaps and providing mandatory compliance training, professional development, and leadership workshops.
- Working with managers to map out succession plans and internal mobility opportunities..
- Processing payroll and managing employee benefit packages such as health insurance, pensions, and PTO policies.
- Evaluating job roles to ensure salaries remain competitive and fair within the industry.
- Mediating disputes and addressing employee grievances or concerns.
- Conducting employee surveys, stay/exit interviews, and organizing initiatives to boost morale.
- Reviewing hiring practices to eliminate bias and educating staff on respectful, inclusive workplace practices.
- Ensuring the organization complies with all employment, labor, health, and safety laws.
- Updating employee handbooks, investigating policy violations, and managing disciplinary actions or terminations.
- Maintaining accurate, confidential personnel files and attendance records.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of proven HR experience.
Fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of Nigerian Labour Law and HR best practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software.
- Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- Previous experience working with Chinese companies or expatriate management is highly desirable.
