Backend Developer Trainer

FadaQa is a Non-For-Profit single platform for Techies to Learn, Inspire, Network, and Build. Our mission is to empower, educate, and foster a borderless TECH community where people from low socioeconomic backgrounds can access the skills, opportunities, network, and support they need to improve their standard of living, gain financial independence, and build innovative solutions, starting with Africa for FREE.

We are currently seeking a remote volunteer Backend Development Tutor to support our learning cohorts.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing comprehensive lesson plans, subject modules, curriculum, and teaching materials for backend development.
• Teaching core backend concepts such as server-side logic, APIs, databases, authentication, and application architecture.
• Assessing student progress and adjusting teaching strategies to ensure effective learning outcomes.
• Offering constructive feedback to help students improve their problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Guiding students on building scalable, secure, and maintainable backend systems.
• Collaborating with other tutors and educators to design innovative and practical learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Passionate about backend development and teaching, with strong communication skills.
• Experience with backend frameworks such as Express.js, Django, Flask, Laravel, or Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Experience working with RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization, and server-side security best practices.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms, deployment, or DevOps concepts is an added advantage.
• Previous experience as a Tutor, Instructor, or Trainer is preferred.
