Are you a passionate backend developer with a deep understanding of blockchain technology? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy tackling complex challenges? Zap Africa, a leading Nigerian cryptocurrency exchange platform, is seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join their innovative team!
In this critical role, you'll play a pivotal role in building and maintaining the robust backend infrastructure that powers their platform. You'll collaborate closely with various teams to design, develop, and optimize the backend systems that enable secure and efficient cryptocurrency transactions.
Here's What You'll Do

• Backend Architect: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Node.js, ensuring they can handle high volumes of transactions and user activity.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly with frontend developers, blockchain engineers, and product managers to translate business needs into exceptional features and platform improvements.
• Performance Optimization Guru: Continuously analyze and optimize existing backend code to ensure peak performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Security Champion: Implement robust security practices to safeguard the integrity of Zap Africa's backend systems and protect user data. Stay informed about the latest security threats and integrate best practices into development processes.
• Blockchain Brainiac: Leverage your knowledge of blockchain technology to stay up-to-date with industry trends and implement relevant advancements that enhance the Zap Africa platform.
• Troubleshooting Trailblazer: Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues efficiently, collaborating with support and operations teams to maintain a smooth user experience.
• Code Review Rockstar: Participate in code reviews to uphold code quality standards and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the team.
  

Are you a perfect fit?

• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• You possess a minimum of 5+ years of solid experience in Node.js backend development, with a proven track record of building scalable and high-performance systems.
• You're a master of JavaScript and the Node.js environment, wielding them like second nature.
• Prior experience working with blockchain technologies, particularly in the cryptocurrency exchange domain, is a big plus.
• A strong understanding of database systems, both relational and NoSQL (MongoDB), is essential.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a plus.
• You possess exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills, able to identify and resolve complex issues effectively.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills are key to thriving in Zap Africa's dynamic team environment.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
