Job summary
Responsible for the overall management, performance, and profitability of the workshop. The role ensures efficient workflow, high technical quality, customer satisfaction, cost control, safety compliance, and optimal utilisation of manpower, tools, and resources. The Workshop Manager translates business targets into operational results.

Responsibilities:
Workshop Operations Management
- Plan, organise, and oversee daily workshop operations and job flow.
- Ensure effective allocation of jobs to technicians based on skill and workload.
- Monitor vehicle inflow, work-in-progress, and completed jobs to meet delivery timelines.
- Ensure strict adherence to AutoClinic’s SOPs and service standards.
Technical Oversight & Quality Control
- Supervise diagnosis and repair processes, especially complex or high-value jobs.
- Ensure all completed jobs undergo quality inspection before vehicle release.
- Reduce rework, comebacks, and customer complaints through process control.
- Enforce correct use of tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair procedures.
Productivity & Revenue Management
- Drive workshop productivity and labour efficiency.
- Monitor billed hours versus available technician hours.
- Ensure all labour, parts, and consumables are properly captured and billed.
- Support management in achieving monthly revenue and margin targets.
People Management & Discipline
- Supervise Workshop Supervisor(s), technicians, apprentices, and support staff.
- Enforce punctuality, discipline, safety, and professional conduct.
- Conduct toolbox meetings, performance reviews, and skill assessments.
- Identify training needs and support technical capacity development.
Inventory, Tools & Asset Control
- Oversee usage and accountability of workshop tools and equipment.
- Coordinate spare parts usage to prevent losses and wastage.
- Ensure preventive maintenance of workshop equipment and bays.
- Liaise with operations/admin on procurement and inventory planning.
Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping
- Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards in the workshop.
- Ensure a clean, organised, and professional workshop layout at all times.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, and implement corrective actions.
Reporting & Management Support
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly workshop performance reports.
- Track KPIs such as productivity, turnaround time, revenue per bay, and rework rate.
- Provide data-driven recommendations for operational improvement.
- Support audits, inspections, and management reviews.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience
