Advocate Community

The💖HRH PRINCESS BELLE RACHEL FOUNDATION is seeking a dedicated Community Advocate to support its protection and access-to-justice programming for conflict-affected and displaced communities in Wollega. This position plays a vital role in strengthening community protection mechanisms, promoting legal rights awareness, and supporting vulnerable individuals to access essential services and justice.

Position: Community Advocate

Duty Station: Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria (with field travel as required)

Contract Type: Full-time

Reporting To: Program Manager and Protection Coordinator

Time Commitment: intensive schedule

Key Duties

• Provide legal information, guidance, and referrals to vulnerable individuals and displaced communities.
• Support access to civil documentation and justice mechanisms.
• Conduct protection awareness sessions and community dialogues.
• Identify and report protection concerns through established referral pathways.
• Collaborate with local authorities, humanitarian actors, and community leaders.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, PSEA, and donor regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Law, Social Work, Human Rights or a related field (required).
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in protection, legal aid, or community advocacy.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian legal frameworks and humanitarian principles.
• Experience working with conflict-affected populations or similar contexts.
• Fluency in the local language and Amharic required; English is an advantage.
• Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding and humanitarian ethics.
