Job Summary

We are looking to hire a suitable candidate to fill this position. The main function of the role of an Administrative Accountant is to manage the financial operations and administrative functions within an organization. The Administrative Accountant plays a vital role in maintaining financial transparency, optimizing resource allocation, and supporting the achievement of organizational goals and objectives.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, expenses, and revenues, using accounting software or spreadsheets.
  • Payroll Processing: Manage payroll processes, including calculating wages, processing payroll transactions, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations and payroll laws.
  • Budget Management: Assist in budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and financial goals.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into financial performance and inform decision-making processes.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and receipts, reconcile accounts, and follow up on outstanding payments to maintain positive relationships with vendors and clients.
  • Expense Management: Monitor and analyze expenses, review expense reports, and identify cost-saving opportunities to optimize financial resources and control expenses.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and forecasting, including ratio analysis, trend analysis, and variance analysis, to assess financial health, identify trends, and support strategic planning.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in tax preparation and compliance activities, including gathering tax-related documents, preparing tax returns, and liaising with tax authorities to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules, responding to audit inquiries, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements
  • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and recommend process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies and procedures, and implement controls to mitigate risks and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts, and oversee vendor payments to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and adherence to contractual agreements.
  • Asset Management: Maintain fixed asset registers, track asset acquisitions and disposals, and calculate depreciation expenses to accurately reflect the organization's asset holdings and financial position.
  • Cash Management: Monitor cash flows, manage bank accounts, and reconcile bank statements to ensure adequate liquidity and optimize cash management practices.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with finance team members and other departments to support financial operations, resolve issues, and achieve organizational goals and objectives.


Requirements:

  • Minimum academic qualification of BSc Accounting or other relevant disciplines
  • Accounting Knowledge: Proficiency in accounting principles, practices, and procedures to accurately record financial transactions and prepare financial statements.
  • Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze financial data, interpret financial statements, and conduct financial analysis to assess financial health and performance.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping, data entry, and reporting to ensure the integrity of financial information.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies in financial data and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Organizational Skills: Effective organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and data management.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate financial information clearly and effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify problems, analyze root causes, and develop solutions to address financial challenges and optimize financial processes.
  • Teamwork: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues across different departments.
  • Time Management: Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines.
